RAFFLES NIGHT – BLOCKCHAIN & CRYPTOCURRENCY TALK

Singapore Business Group HCMC (SBG) in collaboration with other chambers is pleased to announce that we are going to organize the seminar “Raffles Night – Blockchain & Cryptocurrency talk” on 3rd May 2018 at Sofitel Saigon Plaza.

 

Today, Blockchain & Cryptocurrency have become a phenomenal trend which attracts a great attention from the society. It is hard to deny their presence and impacts on the economy, especially when more and more business started to accept and welcome it as their official payment method.

 

In order to be introduced and understand more about Blockchain & Cryptocurrency definitions and impacts on our daily lives, come and join us at “Raffles Night – Blockchain & Cryptocurrency talk”. Attendees will also be given a chance to raise their own concerns and receive the answers from our speakers. Entrance Fee: FREE ENTRANCE for members of SBG and the co-hosts (valid membership card is required)

                          For Non-members: VND200,000 per participant

SPEAKER INFORMATION:

 

 

Mr. Robert Vong

Co-founder, Blockfin Asia

As BlockFin Asia co-founder, Robert helped organize Vietnam’s first FinTech conference in 2016, advocating for closer collaboration between industry and regulators. In addition to advising FinTech startups, he manages Bitcoin Saigon, the original home of the city's Blockchain and Fintech community.

In 2014, Robert contributed to the Australian Tax Office’s draft ruling on the application of GST to Bitcoin by clarifying pertinent use cases for tax treatment. Subsequently invited to submit to the Australian Senate Standing Committees on Economics enquiry into digital currencies, he played a part informing early industry concerns about double taxation.

Prior to this, Robert was a buyside equity research analyst in Melbourne and New York City. He has an MBA from New York University and an engineering degree from RMIT University.

 

 

 

Ms. Danette Wallace

Business Development Consultant, Infinity Blockchain Labs

Danette Wallace is a technology enthusiast who is working with Infinity Blockchain Labs as a Business Development Consultant to share knowledge about the value of blockchain enabled applications. Danette believes that true global change comes through science and technology. She has worked with multiple channels of communication from grass roots movements to global organizations such as TED to spread information about ways to advance systems and society. Her educational background began with a BS in Mass Communication from the University of Colorado-Boulder to an MS in Business Communication from North-western University. She is now dedicated to enabling advanced peer to peer (P2P) communication and systems by helping to usher in the latest cutting-edge technology known as blockchain.

 

Mr. Dominik Weil

Co-Founder & COO Vietnam's First & Leading Digital Asset Exchange

Born and raised in Europe's Financial Capital Frankfurt/Main, Dominik has been an early adopter and pioneer in the space of digital currencies. 
He is currently active as the Co-Founder & COO of Vietnam's first & leading Digital Asset Exchange & has been leading the efforts of the organization to implement Blockchain-based Remittance payments with the goal to provide faster processing times and lower transaction fees. 
Dominik was also involved in the organization of Vietnam's first Fintech & Blockchain Conference as in 2016 which brought together for the first time in Vietnam leading figures of the State Bank of Vietnam, the local Fintech ecosystem as well as international Blockchain experts from over a dozen countries from four different continents. 
Dominik has been speaking about the impact and opportunities of Digital Currencies at various international conferences in locations such as Hong Kong, Singapore, Tel Aviv for the past couple of years.

Mr. Filippo Buzzi

Head of the Blockchain Desk, Fidinam Hong Kong

During his career, Filippo has worked in Switzerland, United Kingdom, Mainland China and Hong Kong. After graduating in Italy at University of Trieste (BSc in Political and Economic Sciences), he studied in both London (University of London) and Amsterdam, at the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation (IBFD), where he has built his competence in international taxation. Filippo is bilingual in Italian and English.
